1969 to 1971 Lincoln Cents are the most commonly affected, but the error can appear on other years.
The floating roof error is sometimes found on the same coins as the "no FG" variety, where the initials of the designer, Frank Gasparro, are missing. However, a coin with a floating roof can still have the FG initials and a "no FG" coin doesn't always have the floating roof appearance.
